Established in 1997, The Mediae Company builds local capacity. It works alongside local writers, actors, researchers, NGOs, Government institutions and international donors to develop communication strategies, training inputs and media productions that are top quality, appropriate, relevant and sustainable.
We have two offices, one in Nairobi, Kenya which is headed by David Campbell, OBE, a media development specialist who has over thirty years experience in the field of development communications. The other office is in Oxfordshire, UK and is run by Kate Lloyd Morgan. She has worked in the field of development communications for twenty years, focusing particularly on creative radio programming and media research for rural African audiences.
The company undertakes projects, some of which are commissioned by the Mediae Trust, but most of which result from tenders for competitive bids. The Company runs its own long-term projects (for example, Makutano Junction, a serialised, educative television drama for English-speaking African audiences). It also provides consultancy, advisory and training inputs for a variety of donor organisations and NGOs in English-speaking African countries.
