What Mediae Do
Mediae pioneer innovative, entertaining and effective ways of developing and using media which will enhance poor people’s lives in English-speaking Africa. Mediae focus mainly - though not exclusively - on rural
and peri-urban communities whose access to information, new ideas and education is often limited.
Mediae ensure that the production of media products involves the participation of the prospective audience at all stages. Not only do they produce media with in-country teams, but they also train others in the production process, building the capacity of local media wherever they work. They attract nations’ top writers, actors, comedians, researchers and producers to develop communication strategies that are both well-produced and appropriate, informative and sustainable.
Mediae focus on television, video, radio and print, as well as media research and training. They also advise NGOs, donor organisations, Government Departments on appropriate communication strategies.
